Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for admission to the 5-year B.A.LL.B. program, candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent from a board recognized by the University of Calcutta. The minimum marks required for eligibility are as follows:

  • General Category: At least 45% marks in the best four subjects (excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).
  • SC/ST/OBC/Person with Disability (Disability 40% or more): At least 40% marks in the best four subjects (excluding Environmental Studies of WBCHSE).

Candidates who have passed 10+2 from a board other than WBCHSE, ISC, CBSE, Rabindra Mukto Vidyalaya, and NIOS must obtain an “Equivalence Certificate” from the office of the Registrar, Equivalence Section, University of Calcutta, Kolkata-700073, by submitting a written application along with a relevant photocopy of the 10+2 Mark Sheet. This certificate will be required at the time of admission, so it is advisable to obtain it before submitting the online application.

Foreign Students:

Foreign nationals with the last qualification eligibility degree from a foreign board must apply in writing, mentioning all previous degrees, mark sheets, certificates, and syllabus of the last qualifying examination eligibility degree. After preliminary verification, they may be called for an interview. If they qualify for the interview, the equivalence certificate will be issued. Foreign nationals with the last qualifying eligibility degree from Indian universities/boards can also apply in the same manner as other Indian candidates.

  • SC/ST/PWD/OBC-A/OBC-B/Person with Disability: Rs. 250/-
